Since the Aabpara days

About Hamza Books

A small shop with a long memory for titles.

Who we are

A bookshop in Aabpara Market

Hamza Books sits in Shehbaz Plaza, in the middle of Aabpara — one of Islamabad’s oldest and best known book markets. Readers come to these shelves for the titles that are hard to find elsewhere, and for someone to ask.

We are a physical shop first. Everything you see on this website is the same stock you would find if you walked in, and the same people pack it and send it out.

What you will find

On our shelves

Islamic literature

Quran and tafsir, hadith, seerah, fiqh and spirituality — in both Urdu and English, from classical works to contemporary writers.

Urdu & regional writing

Novels, dastaan, memoir, and poetry in Urdu, Pashto and Punjabi — the classics alongside what people are reading now.

History & ideas

Pakistani and South Asian history, political economy and society, plus general English titles for readers of all kinds.
